okay guys phragle has been coming up with some things for maintenance that i really don't understand how they are for periodical maintenance so please people enlighten me. lets hear your maintenance schedules for your quad. list any periodical things you do and how often you do them (this thread could be very helpful for newbies and apparently me too)

tire pressure, compression test, leakdown test, check a-arm bearings, wheel bearings, swingarm bearings, grease everything, and a good cleaning always helps too i mean a real good cleaning

before every big ride, oil chain, change oil, grease all fittings, air pressure, new plug, check jetting, check bearings, check coolant levels, clean air filter, buy spare common parts that might break.

isn't there already a sticky about this?

don't see one. i will add to the list too lol

Check axle bearings, Check wheel bearings, grease steering stem and a arms, grease axle splines, check brake wear, clean air filter, clean carb, check if reeds close, clean carbon from around exhaust port, adjust free play in cables...

come on guys if there isn't a sticky on this we should get a good list together and make one!

After every ride.

Wash, lube, grease bearings, clean air filter, check for air leaks, tire pressure check.

Every 2 weeks.

Change gearbox oil, check and bleed brakes

Every 2 months.

Pull off top end and inspect, replace gaskets, rotate tires and wheels, clean carb, pull cables and lube them, check frame and welds for cracks and bends, inspect reeds.

Every year.

tear down the engine, replace any seals, bearings or other moving parts, take apart and inspect axle and carrier, unbolt everything and put fresh anti-seize on the bolts.

Every 1-2 years.

Tear bike down and inspect, fix whatever it need, repaint frame and other parts.

Thats pretty much how I roll with all my bikes.

That list is nice EXCEPT for the airfilterpart. Especially if you have no lid. Aifilter maint. should done every couple of rides dependng on the environment. If yu pull the filter and feel ANY grit in the airtube, your maint. plan needs some major work and your motor will soon too...
