Got a new ride not too long ago and found out it has a LRD sliding pipe.
was told its a good/great pipe cant seem to get piks to load here but there in my profile album. check it out there sorry for the inconveienceX(

what could this pipe have instore for an engine bore 1 over to 67mm wiseco piston stock crank, VF3 reeds, cleaned up intake port, cleaned up inside ports, polished exhaust port, PJ34 carb, and a UNI filter at the carb no oil injection i beleve stock gearing going to count tomara, and stock tires

does any one have any idea about this pipe and how it works with the adjustability?
like all the way in, all the way out, mid way what might be a good place to have it for a newbie to a blaster im workin on finishing up breaking it in but im going to leave it where it is for now till later for my and its sake id rather not blow it up.

where it is now judging there is about 1/2" of thread left on the adjustment studs out of about 2-2 1/2" of stud

it is a right bend pipe

if it was such a desired pipe why was it discontinued? why is LRD the only manuf. that created an adjusting pipe

i believe 1995blaster has one on here, the idea is such that you can adjust the length of the expansion chamber with effects the power delivery, ie top end or mid range.

its a clever idea, but IMO prone to leaking.

anyone with 1st hand experience?

i have one, it's on my sons bike
theory is that adjusting the length will move the power up and down the rpm range,
and at it's shortest length is for more top end,
and since i did notice it leaking around the "split" ...i slammed it closed tight as far as it would go after smearing some permatex hi-temp copper to seal it up
i also noticed the top adjuster is just too far under the tank to actually adjust it while on the bike
so slammed it is, and seems to run great
