Hello LRD owners. I just bought a use LRD pipe off from Ebay. It came with this fitting that bolts to the head, then the pipe fits over it. I don't think it is getting a good seal and his quad won't fire now. Does this look like the right part or did I get bit by the bay?

Is there a gasket between the flange an cylinder?

Did you use any high temp RTV to seal the pipe to the flange.

If it is leaking it could be the reason the engine will not start.

Do not ride it with a leak, it could fry the piston.

I did put a seal under the flange. I didn't use RTV around the connection, it went together very snug. I'll take it apart and seal it with RTV.

So I'm guessing that I have the right flange. It just didn't look like the same quality as the pipe.

Thats not the right flange.

the LRD flange goes inside and outside of the pipe, literally leak proof.

also, even with the wrong flange, it should have snugged up on there a bit more. try tipping the pipe up to make it fit in.

do you have adjustable or non-adjustable pipe?

yep, that flange looks homemade, and doesn't fit into the pipe snugly as it is

Shame on me for not noticing that it was the wrong fitting, I must be getting old.

Herp- It is a non-adjustable. I can get to snug down more but I'll have to fab a stand off bracket for the forward mount. When I get the mount tight it pulls it away from the flange.

Awk- I thought it looked cheap. Do you know if LRD parts can be found anywhere? I can't find them on the web.

Thanks for everyones help. I've been a four "poke" guy most my life and the two stroke thing is a new adventure for me.

Awk- it looks like they still make exhaust systems for some older bikes. I sent them an e-mail to see if they have any idea how to get one. I see that they do a lot of work for the blaster. I don't think my son is ready for a 30 hp quad yet.

Mine did the samething of pulling off the flange. I was gonna add a spacer on the bracket but then it throws the silencer alignment off. I ended up putting copper RTV on it and called it a day.

How much?

Fast6hand-

I fund that out just now. After a few four letter words and some bloody knuckles!!

No word back from LED. I guess I need to spend more money before they will entertain replying to my e-mails.
Yea it sucks. Just use the copper silicone and let it sit overnight. Check the next day for leaks. Put a nice bead on and wipe off excess. That's all I did.
