lower mount yfz 450 rear shock

can the aluminum lower mount be changed on this shock?? im prety sure it should unscrew off the shaft but it has a soft hard adjustment screw in it so im not sure

sure it can.. yamaha only sells the complete shock though. the sof/hard is the rebound adjustment, which more than likely controls a long bleed needle which runs up the shaft. probably has an oring seal.
