Have you ever had coils check good on ohms that were bad FLYIN? Everything that I checked tests good per manual, and I triple checked just to verify that. The only thing that changed is me pluging and unplugging things. Wish the starter wasn't fried:|

No, I haven't check any coils. I just replaced it for a higher output one. You can get a starter on ebay for like 50 bucks. But, If you stator is fried I would replace that first then go from there.
Sorry misspelled starter. That is what was fried, stator looks good and ohms good as far as I can test it. Only thing that can't be tested is the CDI other than having a spare, which I don't have. yama dealer is to spendy to buy oem. Any thoughts to which CDI units I should look in to, leary of used CDI's on ebay?
Ok, well the starters are about 50bucks on ebay and the new cdi's on ebay are about 90bucks. I think I got one of the hot shots cdi. But, I have a 91 so there isn't as good of selection for my bike. If everything else checks out good then it must be the cdi.
