Looking for a 240 cyliner/head/piston etc

maybe just do a port and polish on your stock bore, stroker as well if you have the money but your approachin that 500 mark quick with those mods too, it takes money to make horsey's, keep your eye's open for a used kit and open it's not junk or doesn't get ran up to next to new price, maybe start with a timing advance and a head mod, those will get you ponies for a reasonable price, just a thought

Yeah that was my Plan A; Port, re-hone and polish what I've got and timing advance... But if I can get a jug, everything else I do for air flow later has somewhere for the air to go

. So I'm giving this Plan B a shot. If the jug, clean-up and piston go much over $300, I may stick with Plan A

I have a freshly ported 240 but its set up for a +3 stroker crank. Dont waste your money on a 240 unless its ported. If you don't have the funds for a CT 240 kit your pretty much wasteing money and you will not find one of those cheaper than 600. Get your stock cyl. ported and you will love that stock jug.

i just came across a 240 jug and head on a parts bike i got.
it needs a hone, maybe a bore.
piston says std so its got some room.
make an offer if your interested.

he said it is on the standard "first" bore right now, so that leaves around 6 or 8 more to go
and no, it is not worth boring any cylinder to it's max, just for the hell of it, one sieze and you'll be lookin at $500 to replace it all

dont mean to steal this thread, but with a big bore kit can you bore it out even more?

yes, the ct/la sleeve 240 kits can be bored 3 more times and the vito's 240 can be bored 4 times, but you should only bore the cylinder if its needed to true it up.

I just bought a vitos 240 and then cleaned it up using ken oconnors vids off you tube.if you cant afford the 240 then atleast clean up the stocker his vids are extremely easy to follow and very well explained.idk how much it will help because ive not fired it up yet but should be an improvement.

that is a good deal, buy it, when you can afford it send the whole works off and have it done right by a accredited motor guy, there's a couple on here, no names mentioned, then you can have it installed and ported how you want, gives you time to save for a big carb and pipe if you don't have one, then you'll be rollin
