my yamaha blaster 2005 it starts and as your about to take off dies loses all power and runing very lumpy looks like abit of oil at front of engine not 100% sure anyone have an idea ????

The leaking oil is normal. Just use some copper rtv next time the flange is off to prevent it.

You need to trouble shoot what's wrong with the engine, so just start with the basics:

install new spark plug
remove, clean carb, reinstall
if pre-mixing, ratio should be 32:1
clean and re-oil air filter

Also, unhook your TORS (see DIY section) if you haven't already

Good luck!

Make sure your handbrake is off, it will stop the engine revving. Sometimes the sensor in the thumb throttle housing can play up due to wear when you give it a little throttle. Unplug them.

Push the linkage for your parking brake all the way back in as well (the part w/ the push button at your clutch handle) sometimes that will get sticky and not return all the way, had that happen to me, and it frustrated me for about 10 minutes, make sure to reply back and let us know what you found to be the problem.............

if i unhook my tors will that make my quad run ???

Unhooking your TORS will guarantee the TORS is not causing your quad to not run.

If, during this troubleshooting exercise, you disconnect the TORS and then your quad starts running better......then you'll have the answer to your question.

i have unhooked tors and still not starting i have put a new spark plug in it is sparking i have checked it does unhooking tors work what does it do ?

How did the old plug look?
Do you have fresh gas?
Is the gas properly mixed to 32:1 or is your oiling system still in use?
Did you clean your carb?
Did you clean your air filter?

Keep at it, man, you'll get it running good again soon.....just gotta keep trouble shooting by knocking out all these basics tasks. If you get through all of these suggestions, and it's still not running right....then we'll have some more recomendations for you. So chop chop!
