I sure hope I get to ride this project.

Honda Odyessy, very strong. Swappe a truck load of old fence wire that I was going to take the the garbage tip.

Lots of ideas floating around the brain at the moment about suspension, no suspension.

This build is going to be made from what parts I have accumulated over the years.

I will only buy the things like consumables and maybe some nuts and bolts.

Wether it will have suspension or not depends on just what I can find in my piles of stuff.

I just came up with a crazy plan to make a big dune buggy type thing and use our Honda foreman 500 engine, the four wheeler is kinda totaled, but runs good and has everything I need. I decided that would be funner than making my electric gokart

Hey they came looks solid. Nice find...and even better price:) '''i used my stock blaster tires on my son's go cat and they work great...at one point had a snowmobile engine on it but had to put weights on the front so he could turn lol. A motor with a centrifugal clutch is best i think for a buggy.. i used on another one a Robbins subaru generator motor 11hp and that worked great...i still have that one.. but if you can find a good cheap snowmobile motor, or maybe you have one those work great... has n go no shifting.unless you want to shift.but then there's figuring linkage for shifter . Clutch,etc,etc..... maybe you have some old blaster shocks you can use for the front..i plan on doing that to my kids buggy next.... but you sound like me.work with what you got..you probably know this but make sure you mount motor not to far back if its a bigger one..(weight distribution) is kinda key in order to stear right lol.but I'm guessing you know that already...I've built a few nights n mini bikes... i got a lil mini bikes now with a 72 arctic cat kitty cat motor on it for my little guy..its great...it was an extra motor i had laying around and i got a frame for free.. once it blows up that's it.you can't find pistons or rings for them any more.. buuuut i got two extra sets I've held on to. ..it only does like maybe 8,9,10 mph but that's good enough for him.n a lil two stroke mini bikes is cool... i want to figure a pipe set up.as of now it has a ugly stock lil box liking muffler.i want a pipe on her..lol. sorry for being off subjec i tend to do that.. but buggies are cool..keep us posted on this build please..but you got a nice frame.

Oh, you want suspension...
I have rode a couple unsuspended buggies and either you ride them on a flat pavement track or don't excede 15mph, in that case a Briggs and Stratton 5hp with centrifual clutch is all you need!

A Honda V-Tech (or similar) in the rear might be fun...

Steve

Sno mos are scarce in Oz.

I have Blaster shocks, stiff enough I think.

Steve, I dont think a 5hp Briggs is going to give much of an adrenaline hit, I have 3 old Honda bikes 175, 185, and 200cc that I am willing to rat.

I prolly will have to pick up an old farm quad running gear, for the rear end.

Blaster shocks should be good.. lol like best said a lil Honda motor would be killer. Omg imagine that... haha.. than throw a little turbo on it.. hehe... but for a good look buggy for around yard n such.centrifugal clutch. U might have to change springs n all but with time it will work..I'm just thinking of the hassle for linkage for shifting n clutch n all that..brakes shouldn't be that big a deal. You could go all out n find an old vw bug motor.. lol... my pops had one back in the day with an old beer keg for a gas tank.n the other keg full of beer but by the time we rode around the other keg was all fuzz.. it was road legal too..oh the good ole days....so you got some decisions to make...no suspension or suspension...n a motor.after that the rest will come along.. i hadn't realized where your location was..or if have never mentioned a sled motor.. n if you were closer i got some spare buggy parts to donate but shipping wouldn't be worth it.... Bug a vw bug motor might just fit if you have room for a trans. There a rear drive motor n trans to begin with.... air cooled aswell :) Honda Odyssey FL250 - ATV / Dune Buggy / go cart

The only progress is that the frame has been moved to the for sale pile.

I have been forced to sell my property and now have to move.

I have taken up residence in town with no room for anything but the Blaster and a couple of bikes.

Shame, I was really looking forward to building this thing and blasting around our own little track.

Gotta look for somewhere to ride as well now.

Well that sucks. Good things come with change though I:I

Looking forward to life in the city.

I no longer have the healthy body that allows freedom to ride.

I can now concentrate on my Lad and his endeavours, what does suck though, we have no test track to perfect performance, it will now have to be done in the practice sessions.
