My buddy was telling me that this shop has recasted the dt200 motor and setting it up for the blaster has anyone else herd of this

A DT200 is a straight bolt in swap for the blaster frame and is twice as powerfull stock for stock if you can find everything in working order.
Dont know about recasting but their is a liquid cooled kit.

Liquid cooling isn't needed as long as you're jetting is good.

No im not talkin bout a swap im talkin bout a kit like the viots 240 that wat i was told they are makin have u herd of a builder named calvin i think thats who is makin it
A 240cc liquid cooled motor or a 200cc motor? Why bother recasting a dt200 motor when the original bolts in without any mods..
I think the OP is wondering if any of us have heard of a shop somewhere out there that has started to make reproduction DT200 top ends for the Blaster engine.
Maybe a setup like a big-bore kit that would bolt onto a stock Blaster bottom end and be ready to run? I know the swap is a lot more involved than just bolting on a water-cooled jug and head, but if somebody out there is indeed making a DT200 engine kit, I'd be interested in learning more.

i'd say a quick google search points towards calvin pollet (the casting guru) as possibly being behind any such builds ?????..............................

It might make the head a little cooler but that's it cause there Is no place around the cylinder for the coolant to go, do it's pretty useless
Yes and no.
A lot of the heats located at the head so im sure its beneficial to some point but is it enough to offset the price and install?
Would warp the head I was thinking, the cylinder and head at two different temperatures cant be good?

Youre talking about aluminum to aluminum the heat transfer keep that from happening.If you dont think so look at aluminum heads on say one of my SBF's thats a cast iron block with aluminum heads and even though the expansion rates are different they dont warp.Most or all cars now on the road either run an all aluminum engine or at the very least an aluminum head.
The idea behind that kit sounds logical but whether its cost effective or not is my only hang up.Ive been kicking the idea around for quite some time to try it but with so many members here i keep thinking someone else will try it and post on it.I have seen a pretty slick looking black blaster on youtube with it but have no info from him.
Id really like to see ken or one of the other seasoned builders get it and put it through the paces and let us know once and for all if its hype or really works?
Maybe we could take up a collection on the forum and fund this experiment since it comes up alot?Id throw a few towards the cause...
