has anyone ever made one of those lasers that can catch a match on fire? i need help to make one i think there bad ass lol
im assuming u get the diode and aixiz module from ebay? and is that all you need? comin guys help me out
 
THE one i made, i took the diode out of a cd burner, used a mini mag light
for the case, 2 batteries and one resitor, i think it was 420 ohms if i remember correct.
here is a video, he doesnt use resistor thou.

I had to take it away from my boys. First they lit the back 40 on fire
Then they were burning each other with it. And they will burn skin.

Thread resurrection, well I wanna make one again since I never ended up doing it way back when I posted this thread. What all do you need? And I understand this can burn things up close but can I still shine things far away, I know I probably shouldn't say this online but I ding dong ditch with a laser and shine it at people walking down the road and air horn them etc... And I dint want it to burn them. Think I should just play around with this one and shine people with a regular one?

What do you think price wise total will it run me?

NEVER LOOK INTO A LASER!!!!

This one is 185mw 532nm greenie that will burn matches.
I built it into a box with a speaker voice coil hooked up to a mirror.



This one is 260+mw 650nm red
