KOR T-Rock +9-1/2" aluminum drag swinger

re: KOR T-Rock +9-1/2" aluminum drag swinger

We built this specifically for this Blaster and we don’t plan on building more. Just too expensive. I don’t see strength being an issue but we’ll soon see.

A36 steel -
As with most steels, A36 has a density of 0.28 lbm/cu in (7.8 g/cm3). A36 steel in plates, bars, and shapes with a thickness of less than 8 in (203 mm) has a minimum yield strength of 36,000 psi (250 MPa) and ultimate tensile strength of 58,000–80,000 psi (400–550 MPa).

6061-T6-
T6 temper 6061 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 42,000 psi (290 MPa) and yield strength of at least 35,000 psi (241 MPa). More typical values are 45,000 psi (310 MPa) and 40,000 psi (275 MPa), respectively.

Gonna say there will be no issues of strength at all!

I was just curious, I think it's sick...my main point was why others have not chose to use aluminium....maybe cost they'd have to charge comsumer?

re: KOR T-Rock +9-1/2" aluminum drag swinger

Ya bro cost is rediculous on 6061-T6! Twice of chro-moly! then the labor, not too many willing to pay a "G" for a swing arm!

re: KOR T-Rock +9-1/2" aluminum drag swinger

Good point slick, though some do pay close for some LSR chro-molies. MSRP that is. LSR would probably charge two g's though....lol. Anyway sorry to get off track in your thread ken. Looks sick and I can't wait to see this quad your putting together, a lot of one off goodies i'm sure.......
