OK so I got a 98 blaster and was told it was running and just stopped.. My kick starter is very weak I can push it down with my hand when I took the spark plug on I could feel air coming out when I pushed the kick starter and when I put the plug back in I pushed the bike in 1st gear and could feel it bumping over a little bit what could it be? Is the motor bad?

That may be true but I took the bolts off the top of the motor and looked at the wall and it doesn't look bad and the top of the piston doesn't look bad could it be something with the kickstarter ? The Po said something about they changed the reeds. Could that have anything to to with it

you know more about it then we do.
your going to have to take it apart to inspect.
cheek the reeds,next.
cylinder/piston are a pump..with the reeds being it's valveo_O
take pics if your unsure post them.
0 psi..either your gauge is broke or summin is up..never heard of 0 psi
it should be at 120psi
you also have to hold throtle wide open and kick till it stops rising.
comp gauge release valve might be sticking too_O

i think your mistaking your kickstarter problem for your compression problem.
take head off and kick it see if it moves everytime you kick it....just one way to see?

That's the thing when I took the top off and liked it everything seems fine but does seem like there's much in the kick starter like my cr85 is harder to kick if that helps

blasters kick over very easily.
even when you got above normal compression.
so what?
it ran know it wont start?
check fuel flow
check compression
check reeds
check timing=woodruff key
check for spark......
if it died when it was running then what does kicker half to do with it?

ok so I took my piston out and rings and piston are shot there is no bad wear to the wall do I still need to hone the wall

ok so I hone the walls and didn't check and thing like blasater said toand put new piston and rings and still nothing does that mean the cylinder needs to be bored?

either take pics post them
take a video post it.
or take your quad somewhere to get repaired.
try a different comp gauge.
measure cylinder...and measure the piston you just bought.
are you sure you have. spark/fuel??

in extreme case scinario/you might be mistaking/your kickstarter problem.that is actually compression problem..for anthoer problem.
unidentified yet lol:D

Are you saying that you honed the bore without taking measurements or having someone measure the bore?

What size piston did you put into the unknown sized bore?
