kicker - spring and ball ????

who knows what or where we can get a replacement spring and ball, that holds the kicker in, i tried 4 different shops, online, and even a "b.b" and ballpoint pen spring<<< that worked for about 2 rides
i found a random ball bearing at one shop, im gonna go try right now, but yamaha has to sell this somewhwere, anyone got any info????
help, my shin is starting to wear a groove where the kicker keeps beating the hell out of it

I've heard that you can't get the spring and bb separately you have to buy the whole kicker assembly from yamaha or just buy a used kicker off of ebay

my old neighbor guy told me about a bearing place downtown that has "loose balls" haha, for 5 cents apeice, im goin there tomorrow and get me a few of each size, till i find the size that works, the spring from a ballpoint pen seemed to be working, i'll update this if i find something that works

the spring and bb are a bit bigger and stronger then a pen spring.. a ball from a bearing may work. u need a pretty stiff spring as well..

i took the screw out on the side and pulled off the kicker. took the spring out and put a flathead screwdriver between the springs and pulled them apart some. greased up the kicker and put the spring back in and a bb. works great!!

i try'd a b.b., like the copper kind from a .177 caliber, worked for a few days then bailed, dont know if the copper wore off or what, it shot across the garage when i took it apart,
could be the little dimple the ball engages inside the kicker itself, i may need a new kicker???

i went to my local shop to get a new kicker before i tried the bb and they want like $100 for a used one!!

hey guys, i found a spring and ball that works like a champ, no more need for a whole new kicker, but when i took it back apart to add a little grease, the damn ball shot across my garage, and has yet to be found, de da dee!!!!!, so i called the dealer and ordered 3 more sets, so i'll have a few of these extra next week sometime if anyone needs them, holler

hey '97, i bought the one with some lakota parts and didnt look how much they were, im at my girls now, receipt at home, prolly like $10 shipped, way better than upwards of $100 for whole kicker, who else's shin is sore????
