my kick start had just broke on my 01 blaster and i noticed the oil was smelling burnt and a little piece was broken off right where the kick start was sitting on and its not kicking at all now. look right where the #2 is

ok the arrow that is circled on the right is your crank.
the #1 and #2 arrows are pointing toward your kick starter gear. if something is broken, maybe it is inbetween the gears stopping it from turning.
take it out and get a new one. also clean it out of any metal shavings. you will want to also flush your tranny too as they share the same fluid.

as for the burning smell, what fluid are you using in your tranny?

how do you flush your tranny, just put oil through it and drain? then repeat?

i have a parts washer that i can spray kerosene into the tranny to wash it out.
but you can put oil in it, then shake it around to get the stuff that might be in there to come out.
