there are plenty of reputable shops out there, its rediculas for everyone to say that ken is the only one that can bore a cylinder... i get a local shop to do mine and have nothing but great results for a whopping 40 bucks. porting looks good, nice first post btw lol

Nothing wrong with local shops, just investigate the reputation before you plunk down your coin. As already mentioned Ken is a local, recently went full time with it, and only been a member since 12-09

I have two "local" shops, one has his own line of Banshee sleeves, the other has a complete line of aftermarket items. Plus several machine/auto parts that have been around 40+ years that I know of, and wouldn't hesitate to use any of them. I:I

lol ok if u wanna get technical here my current cylinder does not get bored so its not a issue but thanks... and i was referring to my old cylinder, denny ported it but i had it bored at a local shop, ran awesome and whooped a lot of ass for 2 years I:I I:I but if u wanna talk sh*t it should be noted denny gets cylinders bored on modern, top of the line equipment

dude wtf did i say?? i said its crazy for you guys to tell new guys that ken oconner racing is the only shop cabeable of boring a cylinder and that there are plenty of reputable shops that can do it therefore saving shipping, time in transit, ect... i didnt say denny does better work, cheaper work, faster work, NOTHING!!! so whatever broski, honestly i was surprised u jumped my ass over nothing but its all good.. just another day at the shop I:I

Never said Ken was the only one.
Just MY choice for that kind of work.
Just My opinion.
I've tried the cheaper, local shops and around here, Western PA, they all suck and the fee is the same as KOR.

Yup, it depends on who your "local" guys are & how well you trust them. I've been a auto tech for several years now & have had ALOT of work done by our local Carquest machine shop. Their work is super & I'd have no trouble giving them anything of mine. Conversely, the Yamaha shop in the same town I wouldn't let trim my dog's toenails.[/QUOTE

I have a couple of places in mind. Carquest if possible, Ronnie & his guys are pretty sharp.

you being a smart ass over my first post??? seriously dude??? I didnt mention sh*t bout he was only place to get a cylinder bored, did I??? I was quite simply giving props for some beautiful work!!!! This is why people dont participate on these forums!!! I got a 2500 hp fuel altered in the shop, I've spent plenty of time cranking handles on bridgeports/lathes/etc. i think I know machine/port work!!!! I dont know or give a f**ck about a single person on this board! take your agenda elsewhere!!

and ken thinks for the nice work, your work and professionalism speak for themselves!!!
