ok i got my cylinder back today and away went the build as for the mods stock bottom end port and polished cylinder , vf3 cage, lrd pipe, and a jetted carb everything seems to be running great but the fact it wont idle. it is the stock carb with a 280 main stock piolet and the air /fuel is turned out 2.5 turns i havent got a chance to ride it yet but i ran it a couple times in cycles for a slight breakin, just looking for any suggestions or input on what i should try. it starts up and runs great if i hold the gas just a hair , is there a way i can turn up the idel i forget how to on the stock blaster carb and i lost my manual

if it still has the TORS on it,theres an idel screw you can screw in/out that will raise it...also,you may need a bigger piolet jet...turn it all the way in and start from there...you have it out 2 1/2 turns out...also do a chop and see how your plug looks...280 seems lean...

alright dude easy, take the seat off, and under the rubber pad/protector thing that flips around in front of the air box, flip that up so its out of your way, then right next to the air hose or fuel hose (i forgot) theres your screw, turn it to the right for idle up, left for idle down

i run a very similar setup on my sons, lrd pipe vf3's mild porting, stock carb
on it's second season,
first off, leakdown test is a must, as is retorque the head and base bolts after a heat cycle and complete cool down

i run a stock pilot jet, somewhere under 2 turns out, whereever it idles the highest and revs clean, no way do you need a bigger pilot
stock needle, middle clip
300 main,

i started at a 330 and worked down, plug choppin till i got it right
rips from down low to on top !!!!!!

i did retork all the bolts but no leak down how do you do a leak down i never did 1 or ever had to do 1 on all the other bikes i redid but i here a lot of it on the blaster forum

280 is lean , especially if you have done any airbox mods as well along with that pipe . I run a pod filter and full fmf and I am running a 300 main jet and its spot on . 280 main is gonna fry that top end , you should put in a minimum 300 , maybe a 310 , rich is better for break in protection .

i was thinking i was runing lean i will go up to a 300 and go from there as far as a air box mod i don have 1 it is the stock box with the stock filter
