if the needle has a diffrent taper to it, it will need to be played with, it could be a smaller taper and on the 3rd clip could be up to high....u could drop the needle or try adjusting the throttle cable on the tor unit
drop it one clip at a time and dont let it run to long if its not sounding right....or u could possibly need a smaller main jet.again depending on the taper of the needle
what carb is this and where did u get the needle from
any chance that it is lean on the low circuit and causing it to rev, and I would think that 350 is way big for a fmf and air box, but I could be wrong.
Check that the cable is routed correctly and its ends are seated in the adjusters on the throttle and top of the carb. Make sure you have a little free play.
If you dont have an airleak (which is easy to tell with some carb cleaner or starting fluid - spray it all over the carb while its running and if your engine chokes and sputters its an air leak) its most likely your throttle cable is bound and its just letting too much air in.
alright.... ill try a leakdown test then ill check the throttle... we put the old needle back in and fiddled with the air screw and its still not right... any ideas?
and if it is an air leak.... what part do i need to replace? my intake boot? or what? and how much would it be... i kinda already blew my budget outta the water but i came this far and im not gonna be stopped for an asma attack
