Just can't figure it out

Are all 4 motor wires connected,is the coil grounded.I have some pics of under the hood wiring but not many near the motor. If you are still having trouble tomorrow with it let me know and I will go out and look at the stock blasty I have sitting out there and get you an exact breakdown of what you need and connected where. If it was an 03-06 I could give you the info right now.lol

ok well its 2 wires coming out of the motor that arent connected to anything a green one and a black one. the coil appears to be grounded because under the one bolt holding it on there is a black wire that is grounded. I'm pretty sure i wont make any progress tomorrow. everything under the hood I haven't touched and I'm pretty sure none of it has been touched since it was bought brand new by the original owner

The 4 wires from the stator are white/red,black/red,yellow/red,and black. Those should match up to the same colors on the harness. The black out of the stator gets conected in the harness to a few different things then ends up being earthed. There is a black and green wire that is in the harness by the motor which would be the old oil level gauge that was in the oil tank.I'll take a look tomorrow for you and get you some pics.

Well then I seem to be missing a few wires but only a 3 of them match up the other 2 don't seem to have a connection.
Thanks for the help the pics should come in handy tomorrow

I looked at your pics, what a mess. I would, if it was me!, untape all of the wires and at least see what you are working with. The wiring on a blaster is really easy after dissecting everything. A manual would really help you alot. It did me!

Well I have the online manual that's in a sticky in one of the sections its helped me get an understanding of what I'm looking at.
I am considering unwrapping the wires to see if anything else is wrong

Here is some pics. Here is a list of what wires whould be running down by the motor.

Motor/stator wires: white/red - yellow/red- black/red- solid black

carb switch/tors: yellow/black- solid black

ignition coil: solid orange- solid black the orange is wrapped usually in black tubing

oil level gauge/oil tank: solid green- solid black

rear tail light: solid blue- solid black

Hope this helps.

Dave, if you do not get it running Saturday
Call me and I will help you walk through it
The wires might look confusing, but lets just get it running first and the wiring for the lights latter
