i know there are a bunch of these threads and i have been trying to get mine figured out in the others but i need some brain power here.

First, anyone who has a redesigned head how much did it change your jetting

Second, if i have the mods in my sig and a 330 main is lean there is something wrong, but, if i was covering an airleak, i would think i would have found out pretty quick with one that big.

My test went down from 7.5 psi to about 5psi in 5 minutes, not too major right. And i am pretty sure i was loosing that through the exhaust block off cause my gasket is bad and the bock off was leeking a bit i think.

I am gunna do another leakdown when i find some time but what do u guys think?

All i had off was the head an the reed cage and it was jetted fine before that, the head hold 155psi, and i RTV'd the cage gasket, soooooo i dont know.

did you double check that you're not getting leaks around the intake boot anywhere? they have been known to crack.

check crank seals as well.

you need to take off you clutch cover and stator cover till you can see the seals. but 2.5psi in 5 minutes is a lot.
is it leaking around the exhaust plug? like did you spray it with the soapy water and it bubble up?

Its hard too see in there, like I said I am going to make a new plug and see what happens, the one jemes made was a little weak aroind the holes ro go over the bolts, I will just cut up a rubber boot and see what happens, maybe take the gasket that us shot out to see if I can get a better seal

for the exhaust, you need to use a plug like this
Expansion_Plug_neoprene_rubber.jpg

umm i would say a home improvement store like lowes or home depot or something like that.
it is called an expansion plug.
make sure you get the right size though.

k so i tried a new way to to block the exhaust and it is still losing pressure. I took the reed cage off and cleaned up the surfaces, the gasket is a little screwy, can i just use rtv to replace it or do i need a new one? Also i notice it before, but there is a build up of carbon in the intake. Is this normal or would a airleak there cause pre ignition or something, i dont know. Also i did another compression test and it is holding a steady 160PSI for about half an hour now which eliminates head gasket and rings right?

how do you do a compression test?

also when you put soapy water on the engine, do you see any bubbles?
where are you squirting the soapy water?

well one thing is that the compressio tester isnt gonna leak ever. it is a valve that lets air through one way but not back out.
secondly i have a kens redesigned head and went from a 320 main to a 450 main. the only difference was a little clean up of the exhaust port, not porting just cleanup and i got a bored out stock carb from ken. but check the catb top to make sure your not leaking air at the top of the slide

you shouldnt do a leakdown test with the carb attached to the intake boot. the carb is hard to make not leak, just take the carb off and put the tester into the boot.

and as said a compression tester doesn't ever leak.

here are the place you should spray the water, the intake boots, also squeeze them (checks for cracks), around the reeds, around the base gasket, around the head gasket, around the spark plug, around the head bolts, around the exhaust plugs, around the tester, and if you can, around the oil seals.

so maybe the 330 is lean?

With no airbox lid, UNI filter, Boyseen Power Reeds and a F7/Power Pros exhaust I have my jetting at 340 main on the stock carb. If possible grab the next three main jet sizes and mess around with them

with those mods that thing shouldnt even run with that jet let alone run good lol u guys must be using some screwed up jets id pin check them bitches i bet there no where close to the number stamped on them

his are pro x so they wont be the same, just like my dyno jets were. I just did another leakdown test, each test declines at a different rate for some reason, i am going to get an expansion plug for the exhaust to eliminate a leak there. I am at a loss right now, it is pissing me off, i might have just found an already exosting problem like bad crank seels, cause i am not seeing bubbles anywhere.... :(
