More oil less fuel does cause harder pull due to better ring seat. This actually leans the mix as well as fuel cools the motor not oil. Just my .02.

A heavier oil mix will allow better ring sealing, but as you say the AFR leans out due to the addition of oil in the mix, and jetting must be changed.
