jetting

The only way to know which jet to use is to do a plug chop.....otherwise you're just guessing.

Most folks recomend buying the OEM jets. I bought a range of aftermarket jets from JetRus.com that are working fine for me.

Good luck!

You mean main & pilot jets?

Work with your main jet first.

If you're not able to get your quad running good with the air screw between 1-2 turns out, THEN move on to a different pilot jet.

Lastly, there are not any one-size-fits-all solutions to jetting. Plus your quad will require different jets for different conditions.....like summer vs winter. So the only real way to learn about jetting is to learn your carb inside and out and then start testing which jets work best for your current weather and elevation (plug chops are your friend!).

Asking an online forum which jets are best for your quad will only be helpful to you as a starting point because no 2 quads run exactly the same. So really it's up to you to find out which jets work best.

if your asking for a starting point with your mods id say around 300 main as a starting point then do plug chops and go up and down as needed

a 300 main is a bit large if you have no motor work IMO stock is a 230 so jumping to a 300 will make it super rich but at least then you know its rich and can lean it out.

READ UP! there are thousands of jetting posts and even stickys.

i think a 300 main is good for u. but pug chop will only tell. im a noOb too and im actually waiting on a bunch of jets to come in today from jetsrus. i wasted 50 bucks on a dyojet so i had to work with jets closer to my stock 230. i heard 300 is good for mine too then work ur way down. with a aftermarker pip rejetting IS A MUST especially the air filter. i have a k&n airfilter with the lid off and yesterday i was experimenting with lid ON, man it was bogging like crazy! but thats another story. but yea work wit the 300 and down and AFR

lets say if the engine is lean can it blow my motor are if it is to rich i see the fourm post this is just a ? not trying to sound dumb

ok i think i understand what you are trying to ask.

Lean jetting will blow your motor.
Rich jetting will foul your spark plug.
so running a tad rich is the best becuase a plug is like $3 compared to a $150-$200 top end rebuild.

not really a sound more of how the engine acts, and no you will not be able to tell.
you will have to do plug chops to check the jetting.

you cant get an accurate reading, but you should be able to tell if it is super rich or super lean.

but to get an accurate reading you need to do the plug chop.

this will give you some idea,

Spark Plugs

but reading the "smoke ring" as described in the "jetting 101" is the only real way to tell whats going on with your jetting.....................
