Well Im new here, and just trying to get my 01 blaster running decent that I bought off craigslist. I've been having the idle problem of it reving out of control and I have to choke it to control it. Havent found any air leaks, but haven't used leak tester yet though. I did take carb cleaner and spray around all gaskets and nothing changed while it was running. I unplugged the tors on top of the carb, unplugged the wires going to the throttle, and unplugged the wires to the main tors black box like I found posted in another thread. Still same problem. Thinking about ordering the tors elimination kit. I rebuilt the carb with a stock carb kit. I know the main jet is 230 not sure about the pilot but I know it is stock. I have a k & N air filter with the lid on, fmf fatty exhaust, pro circuit silencer, and I am in kansas at 3000 ft. About where do you think the main and pilot jets size should be? Is this why I cant keep the idle under control also?? The throttle cable doesn't appear to be sticking. Also, the oil resevor is removed and lines all plugged with screws and all ports on carb are plugged except for the main fuel line of coarse. I am premixing it at 32:1. Otherwise this blaster has alot of power and I am impressed. But right now its like riding a wild horse with the idle issue out of control. Please help!!!!!

mabey you got a bad crank seal leaky leaky test and your deff lean on the jeting with the main but alot of people dont change the pilot with those mods trying a fatter one wouldnt hurt thou

with the lid on, 250-270 on jet i'd say, and that's a tell tale sign of an air leak. have you checked to make sure that the oil injection nipple on the carb is plugged up tight? how about the cap on the top of the carb? is it tight?

With that exhaust and at 3000 feet you should be a 270 to 290 main but a plug chop will tell you for sure it's gotta be an airleak any place extra air can get into the motor you need to check even the exhaust flange make sure you have a good seal there as well

here is the skinny tou need to get a leak down tester and check where you have the air leak or you will be spending more money on re building the top end and then getting a leak down tester $30.00 here on the forum for a leak down tester WORTH every penny!!
