jets help please

hey i have no idea what jets to use or how they work at all i understand everything but jets ha so what size jets should i be running? my quad is all stock besides uni air filter, filter lid removed, fmf silencer, stock header. and if you could just give me the basics on how theses suckers work thanks

stock jetting is 230. lot's of guys go up to a 250 or so just removing the airbox lid. I would say a 250 or 260 would do it for ya. Your only mod that is changing your jetting right now is removing the air box lid. now that you have more air going to the motor you need more fuel. the higher the number the more gas. there are ton's of variables so telling you exactly what you need is impossible. things like elevation, your motor will be a little bit different than anyone elses motor.

To know if you have the exact main jet you need in there, you need to do a plug chop.

warm the quad up on the plug that is in it.

Do a full speed run up through 5th or sitxth gear and hold it at wide open throttle for a good 10-20 seconds. (you will need space for this)

Then kill it at wot and coast to a stop.

Pull the plug and cut the threads off of it with a hacksaw or angle grinder.

there will be a ring around the white porclin at the base. that should be between cardboard color or coffee colored. depending how rich or lean you want to run. coffee is richer cardboard is leaner
