ok when i bought my quad in august it had all the mods it has now (look in my sig for the mods) anyways and theres a 360 main jet on it does that sound like the right size and by the way im runnin 32:1 mixture
#360 does sound big, #290 or #300 could be better.
How does it perform, does it bog?
Does it blubber?
Did the plug chop show a good colour?
Have you done a leak down test?
Did the jet kit come with a needle, if so did you use it and where is the clip set.?
Have you set the float level?
Trouble is with jet kits, they never give you jets you can use, always below, and above ones needed.
I would be buying a few jets #270 to #300, start with the #300 and do a plug chop, jet from there.
Toss out the needle and put the stock one back in with the clip in the 3rd, middle..
Unless you have an air leak this setting should suit your mods.
If it seems to be running well with a #360, I would consider doing a leak down test, as the rich condition could be masking an air leak.
If your motor is sound with no air leaks, there is no way that your mods need anymore than a #300 !
I would be doing a leak down test as soon as possible, before you ride it again.
PM slickerthan you, and talk tester.
i dont have the stock needle anymore so what should i do?Trouble is with jet kits, they never give you jets you can use, always below, and above ones needed.

Firstly, and I say it for the umpteenth time..
Do a leak down test!
If it runs well on a #360 with your mods, the jet could be hiding an air leak.
Then when it passes, do a plug chop to confirm the jetting.
The needle may run well with the correct clip setting.
I agree 100% with Blaaster, he knows what he's talkin about and he's just tryin to save you some money and your top end from burnin up. If you check other members sigs even with air box lid removed their usually right around 300 for the main. Like he said if your running good with a 360 main its most likely due to an airleak which is why your engine needs so much more fuel with that 360 to make up for all that extra air your sucking in. Piston should be bottom dead center when performing the leakdown test and the size/number of your main jets will be imprinted on the lower side of your jets. You can probly use the search function and look up leakdown test for complete instructions on how to properly perform a 2 stroke leakdown test ( different thematic compression test. ) Good luck man I hope if and when you find your leak it will be a cheap and easy fix.
