jet size for no airbox lid?

i have a 250 jet and no airbox lid and it seems that is what most people are running. i really dont have any serious mods on it and it seems to be running lean. it also sometimes revvs up on its own until i pull the choke. im almost positive i dont have an airleak because i just checked it, what should i do?

250 sounds right... only thing to do is a plug chop

so what could the problem be? when the rpms get high the engine is screaming and sounds reallly lean is this normal?

You might have a small air leak... do a leakdown to confirm

he said he checked for air leaks if you're 100% there are no air leaks i would bump the main up to a 260 and try from there

i checked for leaks and it held 15 for 20 minutes. turns out the problem was a clogged pilot jet. runs great now!
