i was lookin on ebay at a few things and i was wonderin what the size of a stock carb is? Does a bigger size mean itll go faster or do i need a race specific carb to make it go faster? what would be reccomended for the best accelleration in lower gears?

i already took the airbox lid off and it helped. But wen i bought it, the carb cap on top was stripped and held on with a small bungee cord. lol I just wana get a new carb for it and i wanted something that would boost the performance. The reeds are good, but i was planning on gettin the vf3s and i do need a new air filter. thanks

well if you are still manly stock i assume. i would go with a 28mm carb this will open that bike up a little bit with the airbox lid off. if you add a better filter reeds and a exhaust then you could do with an oko 30mm carb...

It already has a toomey exhaust, from the pics i saw, i think its a b1. and im gonna get vf3 reeds and i was told that it was bored out. guy said its was a 240, but he dont kno sh*t bout motors n vehicles so im not sure. I was just looking at the mikuni flat slide race carb. i also was lookin at keihin carbs as well.

ok well you need to find out if its a 240 or not... because if it is we are talking a mikuni 34mm or a kiehin 35mm airstriker for best results.. if not stick to the 30mm. send us a pick of the engine we might be able to distinguish if its a 240 or stock.

ill try to get pics up. i need my stepdad to do that, i dont realy do computer stuff. i remember seeing a thread about figureing out what size ue engine is im gona go look for that n maybe i can figure it out. I think it may be 240 tho, it seems real quick but it seems to be struggleing for air sometimes and i kno it still has a stock carb on it.

if its 72mm or bigger its a 240 if its like 68.5-66mm that is your standard engine also all the 240's ive seen have a different port layout. unless its just a resleeved jug... thats measuring the cylinder diameter... also the 240 kits usually come in a silver color the stock ones are black.. and you an look by looking at the general size and shape... thats y we need a pic or you need to tear the head off and measure

if its a stock jug a 28-30mm carb, if it ends up being a real 240, a 34-35mm carb will be the better option

i had the head off the other day wen i cleaned my carb n reeds, it was really clean. It was silver, like chrome lookin, it definately wasnt black. Ill probably just tear the head off tomorrow n measure myself.
