So I put the engine together lastnight. Everything went real smooth. Leak tested this morning and perfect. Dropped 1 p.s.i. in 5 mins. I'm a happy camper. Just waiting on carb rebuild kit.Gonna post mods to get an idea where to start jetting. Thanks everyone for all the help!

I hate to be a spoilsport but you have an air leak that may get worse with time.

It must hold air without dropping any pressure.

Did you by chance test the tester for leaks, did you spray soapy water all over the gasket surfaces to see where the pressure was escaping.

Did you immerse the transmission vent tube in fluid and watch for bubbles.

Unless my builds hold 7 psi for 10 minutes I go searching for the culprit as a leak almost always gets worse with time..

Yea I'll double check. I believe it's in my tester. I'll check it.

Alright thanks for raining on my parade. Just joking. Did another test and found the leak. Fixed and held 7psi for 10 min. Thanks. Can you guess where it was? Anyone?

Exhaust flange or the pressure gauge, both common places.

Great that you found the leak cudos for returning to the issue.

Spark plug, forgot to tighten all the way. I just spent too much money not to locate the leak. It's crazy. My buddy just built a motor for a different 2stroke and

Spark plug. Forgot to tighten all the way. And I've spent too much time and funds to not find the leak. A leak is what started this whole build.
