Is this cooling kit any good?

i would think it would help some but they are basically considered a novelty.... with proper jetting you shouldnt have a heating issue, if you are nervous about it just jet a bit rich.

The thing is, its really hot here in Dubai, if you were riding in temperatures of 40 degrees C + would you get the kit.
Thats my question.

that thing has interchangeable domes, doesnt it? if so, i'd think that you'd see a performance gain over stock there. but i dont like the idea of only water cooling the head.

i like them and have considered getting one since i had my first blaster back in '96,
it has to help some, and i think the price is right for the complete kit, pump/rad and all

it will cool the head down...but just the head...i dont see a point if it nots cooling the whole cylinder down...but as long as ur jetting is right..u shouldnt have overheating probs at all

But since the head is connected to the cylinder, it should at least help cool the cylinder as well. The biggest problem is that none of us have actually tried it, making it hard to give advice on. I can see that you have a true need for it though. Why don't you try it and then you will be the resident expert on that system?

hmmmmmmmm. maybe if you bought that kit, and you added some copper tubing into the system. you could have the water run through the radiator, then through tubing that you can put between the fins of the jug, and then through the head, and back to the radiator. it shouldnt be too difficult to bend some small copper tubing through the fins. i'm sure someone has already tried it, but its just a thought to make cooling even better

Im definitely considering getting it, just checking with the garages if they could install it.
And as soon as i get it, i will post pics and tell you guys how it went.
Mind, it will take a while though...

garages to install it ??????
i have a rule of thumb.................
"if i cant install it, then i cant maintain it, so i dont buy it "

i wish someone would make a water cooled jug and head for the blaster... along witha powervalve!!

actaully if u look at the clutch side of the case cover u will see a blocked off looking tube sticking out, thas cause the blaster enguine was reworked from a liquid cooled aussy bike (don't remember wut it was now) but, u will also find that almost all blaster enguine parts are innerchangeable with a yamaha IT200 that is also air cooled...jus sayin :)

its from the dt200 that is watercooled i believe. but parts are very hard to come by and very expensive to do the swap over here

No the thing is i dont want to pay 250$ and then make a mess of it, i just want someone professional to install it perfectly and then ill take it from there.

I found this cooling kit online, and since is like 50 degrees C here in Dubai all the time I thought it might help.
Anyone have any experience with this kit?
Does anyone recommend it or not???????
This is the link Yamaha Blaster High Performance Liquid Cooling Kit

thats intense, i agree it is really just cooling the head. some company should cast a jug and head.

how did you get a blaster in dubai?

Well i must say that most of the days i ride it is just below or hitting 40c(104 f) here in south africa. i must add that i do not compare our temp with that of the desert but i can promise you with the right jetting and ridding knowlage(don't let the bike stand and idle for long in the heat, keep moving!!!) your bike will be fine! I bought my one blaster in 1999 new and isn't stock anymore and only did the topend twice. Just look after your ride!!!!

Well, they used to sell them in the showrooms here until they were discontinued. And you can buy them used here too, I also have a Banshee.
