is it worth it to do what im doing to my blaster? i mean its gonna take along time and quite a bit of cash and i dont even know how it will work when its all done. it will look nice yea but i want to keep up with the big boys and still look good and have the blaster run good to. seems like everytime i get on a blaster somthing goes wrong with them i dont wanna dump a boat load of money into one and then have to keep fixing it cause it wont run right. what would you do? sell it for parts and buy a bigger bike. OR stick it out and fx the blaster up and make it 450 eatin machine

its all about maintenance, i just put $800 into just my motor but did it right, seals, bearings, crank, everything and it purrs like a pissed off kitten lol. and i dont regret it at all, worth every penny imo. i would keep the blasty if it were me

well then i guess my 2 bikes were just lemons i had 1200! into my motor on my bike and could never keep it away from the shop (although i think it was the ass workin on my bike) i wound up sellin that one for 700 and this one i just got 3 weeks later it blew up! what is it with these damn blasters. i ran the best gas and the best oil i could buy locally at the atv store and it blew it up! now its in a million pieces and im not sure if i wanna go through this all over again with another blaster. all i want is a good looking really fast bike. can this be achived with a blaster?

you tell me, what you think of mine?? http://www.blasterforum.com/pics-vids-9/first-short-vid-new-stroker-setup-27547/#post323961

it gonna take alot to make it a 450 eatin machine, better off buying a bigger bike.

this is true, a 400 is easily in a modded blasters reach, a 450 eating machine, i dont know about that one. if you are looking for something to eat 450's you might want to get a 450 and mod it lol. but if you want a good solid ripper that can be built on the cheap, the blasty wins

ok ok not a 450 eater just somtin to keep up with all the bigger bikes i ride with (and a crf 100 dirtbike) im tired of being the last one in the pack i wanna be towards the front and i also wanna be able to climb hills nobody attempts and actully make them (the blasters usally good for that) but i want somting dependable not somthing thats gonna overheat and blow up in the middle of the trail like both my blaster have in the past

get a port, good pipe, 34mm carb and jet it slightly rich you should be good to go for power
its all about maintenance man

so the vitos 240 kit is really nessisary or the 3mm stroker crank? i dont wanna dump all kinds of cash into this thing i want a good looking fast blaster thats all

you can get a good looking blaster with nothing more than some time, paint and sandpaper. a fast blaster is going to cost ya some chedder. look at my mods, i should be able to beat a 400 but it wasnt exactly cheap for that stuff. but like i said i dont regret at all, money well spent if ya ask me and it was still waaaaaay less than a different quad would be.

so that costed around 800 bucks? thats fairly cheap compared what i was doin to mine i totaled about 1600 bucks worth of parts thats why i was freaking out but i like your bike and would like to do the same motor mods to it

yeah about that for the engine stuff, but you need to find a good quality shop to do it for you not some stealership. thanks for the compliment man im quite proud of the job i did.

i was thinking about having sombody on here do it and if ya dont mind what pipe is on your bike to make it sound like that? mine sounds like a cross breed between a 2 and 4 stroke

u dont need the vitos kit for a 3 mil crank with the vitos cylnder u can push some more ponys outa it but u dont need it for that crankshaft but it is alot better to get ur cylinder ported for the crankshaft and if u want it for hill climbs and trails and stuf go with an agrasive trail port and a low to mid range pipe and u should be able to keep up with the 450s a little bit better but ur not gana beat them mabey just a short run but there always get u in the long run lol

Id get Some good +3+1 a arms and extend your swinger a few inches. Then get some good shocks and tires. Then worry about more power.

When I had my blaster it had a port job, pipe and reeds. It was quick.

When i got some nice works shocks, extended my swinger, it was fast.

my pipe is a power pros and the silencer is a powercore wich i just repacked for the rebuild if that matters.

i'd never fully mod out another one again.... i love the red n black beast but between what i got in parts and shop costs i could have left it stock and bought a new yfz or unmolested banshee. yea its a great conversation starter and its fast and looks good but a piped banshee or yfz would still eat it alive. i've had it since i joined this forum and its been down for repair on and off most of the time. hell since i started modding it i've probably only got 30hr of ride time on it in all that time. meanwhile i've had my lightly moded 04 for about a year and i've gotten 2-3x as much seat time in on it and dont mind riding it a bit.

my advice would be get a pipe, vf3's, 28mm flatside carb, good air filter and at most a port job. if that isnt fast enough stop sinking your money into it and save for a bigger machine.
