Sweden, Denmark is my native
Im currently in the middle of a rebuild due to my crank has scraped the crankcase and grinded metal, due to worn out crank bearings..

But i will be replacing the crank and crankbearings.. But is it normal to change all the transmission bearings also?? Because there are like 6 additional bearings then.. 3 each side.. In the one cover the can be pushed.. but the other cover there are no holdes from the other side so they needs to be pulled out..

How long do they last? Are they bearings that last forever or? Do you guys change them when you rebuild? are they expensive.. ?

Inspect for heat coloring or major wear, but I believe they are all wet bearings and there for well lubed. If they dont look bad I would run it.

But could I sleep at night if I didn't?

I would just use hot water and soap and clean them out good. Then spin them and if theres no play and no grinding and spin smoothly I would just run them.I have done a few rebuilds lately and have not changed any yet.But if you got the money to throw then go ahead and do it.

well i highly recommend changing them just to be on the safe side and go a tit while you have it opnened up so you odnt have to in another time open it up.

Well i found out this little adventure is gonna cost me a fortune.. so ill run them again and clean them up, they dont look worn out at all or miscolored or anything..

it's been awhile but you should only have to take out the bearings for the crank to do the seals there. the rest of the seals i do believe don't have bearings where the rest of them go. you have 2 seals for either side of crank, one for the kickstart on clutch cover, one for the oil site glass window, one for the shift shaft, one for the primary/front sprocket shaft.
