just finally finished putting the blaster back together today. Took a while to get started. Once started it would stall when letting off the throttle. Then, it started revving on its own. I cut it off right away. Can someone explain to me whats going on please? All I can think of is wiring might be off but that would not make it rev like that.

Sounds like jetting issue... run it and do a plug chop. spray the cylinder with carb clean (or do a leak down test)while its running to see if it revs up and has air leak first

when u say finished puttuing back together do u mean like a rebuilt topend...if so, did u do a leak down test...sounds like an airleak somwhere

haha. sorry, i should clarify what Ive done besides screw it all up.lol. I stripped everything down and painted the body. As far as the engine I only changed reeds. It was not idleing at all at first, I had to keep giving it gas to run. Then it started idleing like crazy.

oh and my engine on/off switch is not functioning at all but my key turns it off. So i do know my wires are f..ed up somewhere. So that is probably why my idle would not hold. Im just lost on the irratic crap.

I had starting problems when I bought it. The gas was crap that was in there and the reeds were shot. All new gas and reeds. Another issue I have is the choke will not stay out, so that makes it a pain to start. No the idle was not irratic before. It started doing it after I was running it for a while earlier today.

my guess would be an air leak where the reeds bolt on at. did use a new gasket?

im guessing something is stuck in the carb. I dont think its an air leak. If it was it would have started when I first started it, not a few minutes later. Like i said I had to hit the gas to keep it running at first, then suddenly it was going nuts.

Do a leak down test. It sounds like you head or base gasket may be leaking if it start to rev high after it warms up a little.

I don't know why you are fighting it sal. this sounds like a typical airleak man. I know you don't want to belive it bc you want to ride. don't listen and see what happens. hope you got a few hundred extra bucks layin around for the rebuild

thank you norman. I know everyone says leakdown. Yes i will when i have time, but that is not always the answer to everything, maybe, maybe not. Norman, I did touch the throttle cable when this happened so that may be the answer. I will definately check this out first since I do not have the time tomorrow to go and buy everything right now for the leakdown tester, but I promise everyone I will also do a leakdown test asap. Thanks everyone.
