Inline fuel filter question

I know there are a couple people using inline fuel filters. I've found two different filters on rockymountainatv and they are dirt cheap. Has anyone used the Tusk or Visu-Filter inline fuel filters?

They are plastic and I've read a couple reviews about them melting. Those may have been quads that run hotter or have the fuel line closer to the motor. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

I bought the tusk in line one ...great product and your not gonna have any probems with it melting...the only situations where guys are melting them is some of the newer bikes where the petcock is directly above the cylinder and packed in there tight with no airflow. Plenty of room and cooling airflow for it on the blaster. I would go for it, i like mine.

i have an inline filter between my petcock and carb.i just went to the auto part store and got it there by the lawn stuff and it was only like $2 works good i tihnk and ive had no problems at all

yep no problem...they are all pretty much the same thing so just get somethin. itd be hard to spend more than 4 bucks on one lol

yeah i have one for my 34mm i love it, better than straight line running to ur carb, but you also have a screen between the gas tank and petcock

Yeah, I drained my tank yesterday and flushed it out. I pulled the petcock and it wasn't too bad, but there was some sand and grime on the filter. It all started with pulling off the fenders to do some scrubbing and cleaning...and now my blaster is all torn apart Regardless, I figured a fuel filter would be a nice, cheap investment.

I have an inline fuel filter as well, but with the angle, the line kept bending a little and then fuel would leak out of it, it was frustrating me after a while cause i didn't have that problem at first. And i'm using the tusk fuel line stuff off RMATV, and it was workin right, but then fuel just started leaking. Do you guys use hose clamps?

I plan on using hose clamps. Even if it doesn't need it, I would feel better about it. I ordered the Visu-Filter one. 2.99 won't break the bank. haha

Use fip ties like on a boat.

Fip ties? Did you mistype that or am I just new to that term? haha. I might use zip ties...since they are more subtle.
