In over my head???

Ok now we are idleing! But losing lots of oil from where the exhaust hooks into the motor and out the end of the tail pipe. Its like a steady stream! Its smoking like a freight train too. I just replaced all oil gas mix in the tank with better grade oil and high octane gas. Adjusted idle at the throttle on the handel bars. so now it is idleing. Am i still supposed to be putting oil in the crankcase still? I filled it up earlier too. Please help

It's Ok it's supposed smoke like that. If you want to be percice most local snomobie or powersports dealers have whats a ratio rite cup that shows you what amount of oil you need to mix at to get the right amounts. At most like $3 a cup. Yes it's just like any other bike it drains out the plug about dead center of the bike vertically with the pegs. Simply pop it loose without rounding off the edges with an improper socket and simply drain. Any mechanic at any motorsports dealer can do this pretty cheaply. Then replace with 10-30 to 40 motorcycle oil. The w on the bottle dosent really apply for much of anything. Fill with 650ml of the life blood oil kick it over a few times with the key off and your good to go for a year.

So its flowing out of the head where the exhaust is hooked up cause i got too much oil in it? Im thinking so. I filled the crankcase with cheap 10w30 auto oil like to the rim. I think it was smothering the motor with oil. I will get motorcycle oil to put in it. So ur saying to drain the oil i got in it now right? Im still not sure about the amount of smoke. Seems like its very heavy smoke and ligers around too long. I have 2 acres of land at home and after riding the bike 5 mins u counldnt even see my property let alone the neighbors, lol Afraid i might have to ride else where so i dont piss my neighbors off =)

^^Yea thats a big problem. You don't actually fill the crankcase. There's a window on the bottom of the engine near the kickstarter that shows you your oil level.

Yea my little window thing i dont think is working. Either that or it has never been at a level to where i can see any difference in the window. But iwas pretty sure it was drained of all the oil seeing as there was a crack in the crankcase that i just repaired. do u think i should just drain all the oil and start fresh by measureing the oil out before dumpin it in?

Just drain all of it out and start on the base line that there is no oil in it.OK when you do this look on your oil quart bottle and put in 650 ML thats about a pinkie finger's width not length past the 3/4 mark on the quart bottle and thats as close to as much as your gonna need for now. As for the header leaking sounds like you need to buy a pair of 80mm to 90mm header exhaust springs their like $4 a pair and stop your problem. As for the excessive smoking it will do that if it's been sitting it's burning off the oil that sifted to the bottom of the tank. Post a video of it idiling if your handy with a camera. So we can acess the situation.

Ok Ill see what i can do about a video. Do i need to post it on you tube and the copy and paste the link in the reply box? or is there an easier way to do it? gonna check out the header exhaust springs. Definatly need something there. Thanks for ur help

On second thought im gonna fix the oil issue first and then ill put the video of it idleing on here. im hoping when i fix the oil issue maybe there will be alot less smoke. Fingers crossed.

i sense a potential airleak as well if the oil pump was not properly removed
