i have a 34mm PJ series keihin on my 02. it has a bbk to a 230. runs great wont idle at all. any ideas?

first of all clean the carb make sure its getting gas and check every thing over like the reeds spark things like that will it start and run at all or is it just not idleing do you have any other mods and is the airfilter clean
wiseco piston, boyeson reeds which were done with the bbk. and fmf fatty exhaust. induction is stock. changed the plug already. i guess ill start with cleaning the carb. what are the factory settings for it? any idea how much a jet kit is?
I'll throw an idea out there. Maybe you have a small air leak. Running you make enough vacuum/pressure for engine to work but at idle you dont. Either carb problem or small air leak imo.
definately check thereeds while youre cleaning the carb cuz if there messed up it will definately affect how it runs and check if the carb needle is bent when my 230 ran like crap and did that i looked and sure enough my needle was bent put a new one in and it runs great or did until i got my blaster lol
alright yeah that sounds like the issue. i didnt even think about and air leak. and while im in the business of cleaning carbs ill check the reeds. i put carbon fiber reeds in the bike when i did the rebuild. but who knows maybe theyre bent

Just a bit off topic, but how do you do a BBK to a 230? I think you likely mean you have a .030 over bore?
On topic. Idle problems in a PJ are usually the result of a pilot jet that is too large. What size pilot is in it now?

Is'nt a BBK a 232cc displacement with a 72mm piston. I think he just ment 232cc. They call it a 240 kit but it's really a 232 I think.
thats true but i bet this guy is only bored out .30 over.. in wich case im with dualstroke, too much carb for to little mods. i run a 34mm pj with a 55 pilot and 162 main and my blasty starts first kick and idles like a champ
If you want to save money look at rockymountainatv.com They have some cheap jets. I think their Keihin copies.
