Hey, I am a newbie to this site but not to forums. I posted in the newbie section, so if you want to know a bit more about me, there ya go;)
Ok, my problem.
I have a 2005 Blaster. I stopped getting to ride it a few years ago on a regular basis but did fire it up at least once a mont. With a few blast down the street at times. I have always took care and service of it with Yamalube and 93 octane gas. Recently I havent had time to spend to fire it upor ride it The other day I tried and it wouldnt start. Today I had time to spend and started with the basice. Spark and fuel.
Plug is relatively new NGK. Looks perfect without any soot at all. looks brand new. Got a spark tester and confirmed a strong spark at the electrode.
Confirmed I was getting fuel into the fuel bowl via the drain screw.
Pulled intake boot and confirmed throttle was opening up.
Removed carb and pulled fuel bowl off. Couldnt find anything bad but pulled jet and then floar.
Found that the needle from the float was sticking. I pulled the brass part from the housing and freed the aluminum part from inside it. Cleaned off the corrosion, confirmed freely moving and put back together.
Finally she fired up almost right off. BUT
The idle sounds very pingy, not as fast as usual and when you give it throttle nothing happens. Well, actually this is what happens....Give throttle and you hear a difference in the sound...almost like a big fart...an airy sound as if there is a massive about of air entering but no speed change. Soft or hard throttle nput, the same exist.
I have a short vid clip I plan on uploading to Photobucket and attaching.
Does anyone with more experience see something right off from what I described?
Reeds??

THX,Michel

park is def not on.
How does the tors work? Whats the electrical plug going into the top of the carb?

Yeah, the ding ding and bwoooh sound about right. LOL

the electrical plug on top of the carb is the tors lol. if the tors screw up it creates horrible throttle response

sounds like your float needs adjusted,or it could still be the plug. I would swap the plug for starters that way you KNOW that caint be the issue.

It almost sounds like there's an electrical problem with the TORS. I don't know a lot about the TORS but if it went bad it would probably be holding back the throttle...

Yes,upon listning again i think it's a spark issue, mine was doin that the other day and it turned out being me CDI box was goin out.And that is EXACTLY what mine sounded like.

there is a small button in the throttle that works with the TORS make sure that it is not stuck. the way it works is if the throttle is not moved it presses the button (and ingages the TORS) and as soon as you press the throttle it releses the button.IMO there is very little that can go wrong with the TORS it is a simple setup but some prefur just to remove it.

K, I will doublecheck plug. Spark seems very strong. Ive been reading on TORS and the disableing but there seems to be conflict on late models and the process. I will check the brake and throttle switches too.
Any more input is welcome.
Appreciated greatly so far

I appreciate all the help you have given me.
I found the problem. After I unplugged the park brake at the underhood area location, it started to run fine. Had to re adjust the tors idle screw which I had messed with while troubleshooting. Turned out that the actual place where the switch end snaps into the park assembly at the handle had become slightly pulled out. Snapped back in and its all good.
I did notice that ust nplugging the throttle plug underhood and also the plug at the tors (at the carb) simply made it run real bad and shut off. Its a 2005 again.
Mayne that tidbit of info could help another someday.

THX again !! Michel
