every machine is different, every carb is different, so thats a tough one, you will know when you have it just right, you will feel it, stock or aftermarket carb?
if its s stock carb there is a "thumb" type screw that is under the seat, near the gas tank, under a rubber flap. Turn it to the right for higher idle and left for lower. The idle should be low. Maybe just above where the quad is going to die.

ok there is a idle screw in top of it turn it right to up the idle, or you can do it at the thumb but that acts more like a governor, so i wouldn't mess with it.
when you turn it you will hear it and know when the idle is perfect.I:I
