i was riding yesterday and my quad wont idel. I messed with the idel screw and nothing worked. it would rev up and stay there and not come down. also it backfires a lot when i get off the throttle when i let off the gas. i am not sure what that is either. any help would be great.

my blaster has had the idle screw removed but my lt160 used to backfire if it was reving to high i sugest u take the idle crew completly out and then put it in the least u can increasing very little untill you get it at a good level

hope this helped :)

u need to adjust the air screw...and then adjust idle.turn air screw on left side of carb all the way in.back out 1-1 1/2 turns untill best throttle response. then adjust idle on top of carb

i got the backfire problem fixed. loose boot on the pipe. i still can't get the damn thing to idle. should i take the carb apart and clean it or drain the carb? not sure what to do

Taking it apart and cleaning it wouldn't hurt at all.Blow it out good with an air compressor, throw it back together and see what happens. That would also be a good time to inspect your reeds and cage.

well since you dont have any mods listed.. to help us better what is done to your blaster? or is it stock?? improper jetting can make it idle high also.... lean will have ahigher idle, same with timing advance will idle up more...

its all stock all it has done is oil injection block off. that is it. it was running fine one day and the next no idel. it sucks going through trails with no idle and i dont have a clue what to do.

i would def. do what blaster 326 says. cleaning the carb out thoroughly will fix running issues that occur all of the sudden one little piece of dirt can create alot of running problems. so i would deff. take the carb apart and clean it.

cleaned carb and put it back on then i turn the idel screw and the idle will go way up. not sure what that is all about. also the throttle sticks and it will run wide open at times. i turn the idel all the way down and give it some gas and it will run its balls off. i turn the key off and the kill switch and it still wont shut off. the only way to get it to turn off is by putting it in gear and holding the front brake. any ideas?

does the throttle cable itself feel like it is sticking? it may be misaligned or something at the carb. or your throttle cable could be sticking inside that outer coating of the cable. check those things out
