can the cylinder get messed up if the crank goes bad?

In the case of catistrofic (spelling FTL) failure I could see it screwing up alot of sh*t

before my sh*t was knocking then i replaced the top end and it quit knocking and it has maybe 10 rides on it and know its starting to get a knock sound to it

and when splitting the cases which side are the trans gears on or which side to tip it on so they dont fall out?

not to sound stupid but you sure it isn't something on the bike like the exhaust or something bouncing around?

I dont really know much about these little engines, my experience is in the automotive world so I am not much help here. sorry. lol

no i just had the bike sitting still i know its a knock

the knock could be a bad upper or lower rod bearing.

alot of time you can feel the play in the bearings when you lift the piston up and down by hand.

Thats usually what it is. 2strokes like to wear them out fast.

They transmision gears will be on the right. So when you take it apart you tip it on its right side. I have to do this to. I have a nock so I am going to replace the crank bearings and putting a 3mm crank in it. good luck.
