I have a 96 blaster I just had it bored and a total new top end not even broken in yet. I noticed that it wasn't holding engine oil after the top end was put in, had a small leak from the shift shaft seal so I replaced it. Seemed to hold oil after that so I took it out and rode it for about 20 minutes and now it shows that only half the oil is showing in the eye.

Unless it's burning the trans oil and producing tons of white smoke out the pipe, or still leaking ?
Just add a little more till it's between the lines and check it frequently, if it stays the same, your good.
If it keeps going down, find out why.

You have to let it settle for a few minutes before checking it.
Or just change it again and always add 650ml of oil.

If you filled the gearbox by using the sight glass and not putting it 650ml of oil ' that could be the reason for the low oil reading.

The sight glass lies when filling the box from empty, if you fill it to the level in the window then ride it m it will show low when you check it.
