As the title suggests, i am in need of a mechanic. I have a 2004 yamaha blaster and there is a lot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust, and i have been reading on the forum that this is probably a bad crankcase seal. I can do most of the maintenance myself but this task seems to be too great for me. So i need a mechanic. I live near knoxville, tennessee and wouldn't mind driving a little if you do good work. thanks in advance for the help.

We've got a boat on Lake Cumberland, our mechanic fixes almost everything besides chainsaws and really small 2 strokes (below 35cc). He charges $80/hr. He is located in Russel Springs, Kentucky. I can give you his number (270)-866-2345. His name is Brian Esau, very nice guy!

EDIT: Just checked the mileage on google maps and it says 99.7 miles No more than 125 miles

its simple to change crank seals man.....u dont have to split the cases........theres one behind the stator.....and 1 behind the clutch boss.....pick them out and throw in new ones

I thought i had the same problem and it ended up being a blow piston, how is your compress? if its really low (one of the guys said if you can push the kick started down easily with your hand) then you prolly have a bad piston, which was my case.

oh ok. i might be able to do it if i don't have to split the cases. thanks for the info. i'm not sure about the piston it seems like that could be the case too. my compression is weak i know that ( i can barely push it down with my hand ) but it still cranks and runs ok there is just some white smoke. when you had a blown piston, did all you have to was buy a top end kit and install it? if you or any one else has any more theories on what could be the problem i would love to hear em.

I've tried to smell it several times and i can't seem to smell anything that is similar to burning plastic. so i guess its not that. i also heard i could be running too rich. is this a possibility?
