I just got a YZ465 engine

I just got a yz 465 today !!! I paid 400 for the whole bike....not pretty but runs....Guy gave me an extra head , cylinder, clutch basket and a bunch of other little things. Cant wait to get this in my extra blaster frame.

I dn't know how far you are from toledo, but I have done that transplant before and have a welder etc if you want help...we could do most of it in an afternoon....

They are getting harder and harder to find being they were only made 2 years 80-81. Don't sleep on the IT465 it's pretty much the same motor- more woods friendly gearing and a lighting coil make almost a better bet then the YZ.

plus its a 5 speed as opposed to the yz which I think is a 4 speed

I also would like to add the IT's lighting coil is nothing to write home about it's a 6 volt system :/

According to the guy its got a 5 speed in it. I have a tig and mig welder , shop air compressor and a bandsaw....So making it work is not a problem. I bought if off ebay (bike was located in knox pa a 2hr plus ride) it was listed as pickup only. It turned out the guy had to pick up a car in Cleveland today...so i just meet him at where he was getting the car which was 20 minutes away from where i work. I'll probably start my build in winter...when i dont have much going. Phragle my buddy just out that way today to trade his yfz426 for a banshee.
