Always a learning experience.... Twostroker99 (the buddy who borrowed it actually) is going to cut me a two more splitting wedges from 1" plate when he goes back to work on Tuesday.

grind that baby down to a razor edge, how thick were they before?

The pieces I got before were about 1/2" thick and were sharpened to a razors edge. It was a replacement box blade, blade and was only sharpened to one side. That certainly didn't help anything....
