That trade you did, it seems like you got the sh*tty end of the stick...
Every yamaha ive seen has a simple 2 wire ignition. As stated before that quad is going to be sitting for a while before its ready to go unless you some how find money. Quads are by no means cheap to maintain.Just from your posts i can see that you need new tires, your 1 shock is blown out, you jetting is way off, your fan is broken? your complete wiring is garbage and you need a complete set of rear brakes. I dont know dude. Seems like you got ripped.

driftz, you need to find a mechanic to make this thing run good for you. sell the china quad and use that money, probably $350-400 MAYBE to help finance the cost the mechanic might charge. you'll be so amazed how much better you will feel when you have someone who knows what their doing fixing it. i'm sure that you have some stuff laying around that you might be able to sell. paint fences, mow lawns, stack firewood, find someone who needs a hand and will pay... your obviously way in over your head with this. you got ripped off bud.
trust me, i've been in the same position and am in the middle of rebuilding right now. not fun its a royal pain in the ass.

they were rapped in insulation tape , i took it off to see what was going on!, it was alot neater then i took all the cable ties and tape off

the suspension kit alone was woth more then my blaster , my shocks getting sent off to get rebuilt in a few weeks! i got a jet kit ! im getting tyres tomorrow ! the fan is fine just wired completly rong! so now just this problem and caliper

Nice to see you are getting somewhere, bud. Personally I don't think you got rpped off, you got what you paid for, a cheap YFZ. Having done something similar, I can relate.

Right on Kieran. I was just reading your parts list on that YFZ. That's over $3000 (US) worth of upgrades. Not bad....even if it didn't run at all.

theres more things that i havn't listed! one of the shocks needs rebuilding , and a front reim has a dent in it but it still holds aire and works fiine! and a front bearing(but ill do all at the same time ,front rear swingarm bearings) at once ! then im getting new tyres tomorrow! and as for plastics im going all white! with this! http://www.atvgraphicman.com/product/atvgraphics/goforit/goforit-yfz450-ballistic-fairy.html

ok so the starter was not getting any power at all ! so i ran threw all the wires! the yellow wire that goes into the solinoid was bearly touching! so i held it into it and it starts real fast now! im orderign a new harness of one of the guys on yfz central this weekend!the reason its not charging is that the yfzs dont charge without the lights on , but gtyr has a resistor kit whic the harness im getting has in installed!

It's cool bud. I used to do the some thing when I opened an electrical system. One wire at this end still equals one wire at the other end. I know how difficult it is but just take your time and you can figure out all your problems. "Patience is a virtue." At 34 and a.d.d. I am still working on this one! Good job on finding your fault and now find how to go around other problems.

yea man thanks ! wiring ,back brakes and a shock rebuild(only need one done but ima get the two front as its the same price ) then um happy out! and spray the beadlockers candy blue and "chrom looking" bolts on them

dude that is a nice yfz and you definitely got the better end of the deal imo. i can't wait to see it progress some more and see it when finished!
