I have a 2003 blaster, It will start and idle and rev up a little bit, i cleaned the carb. Didnt help, i unpluged the tors system, didnt work. All that and it didnt make a differnce. Its got good compression.

How it happend, i was riding and we got some gas at a store, drove about a mile from the store and the quad died, i thought it was water in the gas, so i drained the gas from the tank, cleaned the carb, put good gas in it, and then i started it and it wont rev up and when you try to it dies out.

Yep, put in several new plugs over last few days hoping one will make a difference.
E brake thing disconnected
Tors - unhooked, bypassed as far as i can tell -- i tried a few different ways that I read on this forum for the 03 and up, none of which made the bike run any different. PResently its unhooked from carb, and jumped over. still runs same

I just though of reeds -- well actually the two responses made me think of it. What makes them go out? How does the bike act when the reeds go?

Ive messed with everything else i could think of and nothing made a difference, i didnt touch the reeds yet.

It it matters, two more thing -- air cleaner off makes it run a little better, and there seems to be way to much gas in the throat of the carb, seriously it gets to the point of dripping where the filter boot hooks up.

Any ideas? Anyone else think reeds?

what makes the reeds go bad? I drove this thing every day, never had a problem with it, then this happens out of nowhere, had to be towed 5 miles home using a belt.

Just wear and tear for the reeds to go bad bro. They are what open up to let the gas into the intake. If they are cracked or if you hold them up to a light you shouldnt any light coming through. They should be tight to the reed cage.

so if they are cracked will it allow gas to flow back into carb throat? And would this explain why it runs a little better with no air filter?

Popped out the reeds,

One pedal is completely missing. Sounds like this may be it. Thanks everyone

I will order some reeds and hopefully it will all be back together and back to normal when I get them next week.
