how to remove rust from a cylinder

i got another cylinder its in good shape but its rusted inside i guess they left it outside or something lol how do i get the rust off without damaging it

alumium dont rust.......

but it sound like your cylinder needs honed

if the rust has grabbed hold more than will just get taken out with some wd40 and a rag, then it'll need at least a hone, but you'll need to have it measured up to make sure that the piston to wall clearance isn't too much

ok i didnt know if wd40 was ok to use on it or not would naval jelly work or is it to aggresive

wd40 is fine to use on it. if that with a rag won't take the rust out, it may have pitted the walls and it'll need a bore

yeah i think the wd40 is gonna take care of it i soaked cleaned it and i soaked it again and im gonna leave it for the night
