How To Remove Oil Injection Without A Block Off Kit

Ya Ken made it very clear when I picked my quad up from him my engine will fry without the carb blocked. I'll take that to heart coming from someone who knows the engine better than anyone I've ever met. I'm sure there are variables on how long said engine would fry. Stock may take a long time compared to a heavily modified within hours.

i mean air /gas in going in regardless
but dirt/water....and unwanted air should be negative

The oil injection is on the air cleaner side of the slide!

I feel that an apology is in order, as I have been under the impression from listening to advice from others, that the oil was injected to the crankcase side of the carby.

I had never taken the time to investigate where the oil was injected, and it looks Bluesman has.

I hang my head in shame and offer HillBillyES my profuse apology.

I admit that I have fallen into the age old trap of listening to advice with out testing the water myself!

If anything good has come out of this argument, I just checked my carby and the oil injection nipple is missing its cap.

Although the nipple, if left uncapped will provide an air leak into the intake, which is not desirable.

No sweat man... I do appreciate the apology but that's what these forums are for to learn, but again thanks and glad we came to an agreement lol

IMO, leak and leak down are interchangeable terms, as you are trying to find where the pressure is going.

After finding my cap starting to tear I plugged the nipple with Yammabond.

Obviously ANY unfiltered air is bad for an engine, as is any "new" source of air into the system, leaking gaskets or seals.

thats why you simply remove the gear? thats what i did, i went in your direction but i didnt some things differently and would like to state them in this thread for the others to get different ideas

first, i did not remove the rubber piece with two hole the lines run through on the plastic cover, i simply silconed it, next i took off the pump, opend it up, took the gear out and put it back together and back on (when you remove the gear, the pump no longer works or functions, it will now not pump, spin, or anything). these are the two steps i took differently, as for all the other steps involved, i did the same as you stated

I took this route as well and im really happy!
I blocked off tge rubber thingy with 2 holes with black car silicon so you cant see it, and removed tge plastic gear that runs the pump....

only thing I wasnt able to do is get a nipple blocket, so for now I just cut a piece of the thinner pipe and kept it attached to the carb, and folded it over and tied that with a cable tie....

no problems yet!
