if not maby its the lil shaft that hits the lever and disingages the clutch.maby its burred and needs to be replaced?
theres a reason why it isnt letting go

I'd go over it again , ya had to miss something. Ken Oconner actually walked me through this process on the phone at about 11pm one night! Other thing i can think of is when the clutch plates are on make sure that there is a fiber plate First and last, i've seen similar problems when someone actually put the steel plates on first. I did do a write up I'll see if i can find it...

that was nice of ken.
i actually had this prob AFTER i changed the oil. i used the right oil. OR maybe it was when i was adjusting the hand lever and thats when it started acting up. idk. but hopefully this time i fix this

Ok found it! (Ya have to remove the cable first!)

1. loosen the outer center nut on the pressure plate almost all the way off
2. hold the clutch lever (the part that the cable hooks onto in the motor) and gently push it towards the front of your bike to relieve the spring tension
3. Now with a small phillips turn the center shaft in which ever direction it takes to align the pointer marks up as you are applying a little pressure to lever shouldn't take many turns you will feel it move. [usually clockwise]
4. When it is aligned, let the lever go it will go off the arrow due to spring tension that's ok. Keep your screw driver on there and take your wrench 10mm and tighten the center nut down snug while holding the center rod tight so it doesn't move. (I used blue locktight also)
5. Now take a socket and tighten it down good but becareful you dont overtighten it and snap it just a good snug tight is perfect. 5 ft lbs is what the manual says. 6. Put the cover back on, make sure your spring for the kick gear is in the hole when you do this or you'll be replacing some more parts down the road (experience talking here!).
7. attach the cable back up and adjust that just until you feel the springs on the pressure plate start to hit, then back off 1/8 turn and try that, ya may need to play with the adjustment on the handle bar lever as it warms up.

If you cannot reach any step a couple things to look at are, Missing ball bearing or two ball bearings, bad clutch lever shaft, incorrect number of plates or incorrect plate placement.

Ya it took me a few times to understand terminology then once it click in my head i was good to go.. If ya live closer I'd come an help ya out!

im gonna do it when it gets warmer in the meantime its gonna sit in my garage. and while im at it im gonna do a port job on the jug on the DIY from ken. that seems easier than adjusting this clutch only more patienceI:I

HAAAAAAA! that is funny!

reason i said that is bc not too long ago i removed the white wheel for the oil injector and adjusted the clutch while i had it open. I had a pain in the ass time getting the kick start bearing back in right, then i tore a new gasket and put it all back in then realized i installed the kickstart spring in wrong. so i had to do it all over. porting the jug looks like a NO BRAINER. most guys are scared to do it but like ken said u cant F it up. all it takes it obviously MORE hours.
but anyhow, my clutch sux and i'll get to it when its warmer. its freezing in RI and my garage isnt heated.

Glad it worked out for u duder! im jealous bc my clutch is a lil weirded out. i took it for a spin today WOT with my old TEMPORARY rims and tires (18x10x8) more torque and takes alot off the top end, but anyway, my clutch is fkn weird, now it starts up when i hold the lever while its in 1st. b4 it wouldnt, it'd just move as if it wants to drive off when i kick start it. maybe its the weather thats messing with the clutch idk. when i pull the lever while bike is off in gear it rolls but still engaged just a lil. i think im gonna do this sh*t tmrw and not wait til it gets warm bc this is gettin under my skin. u guys think i'll need a new clutch cover gasket since i JUST replaced that like 2 weeks ago?
