hey i got an 05 blaster and i was thinking about trading it for an older lt250r. But its alot newer and tight so i dont know if i want to. Is it possible to make these blasters as fast as the lt250rs and what kind of mods would it take to get the most power I can out of my blaster? how far can you take it?

get a good exhaust, get rid of the airlid, new airfilter, aggressive trail port, bigger carb, some nice reeds just those mods would really open it up!! and theres lots more you can do to these machines
The faster you want to go, the more its gonna cost. BUT, you have a good start with the '05 Blaster you already have. I wouldn't trade it for an older 250r unless it is a Honda. The Suzukis were nice, but overrated, IMO.
You will get a lot of extra power out of your Blaster by having the cylinder ported and the head modified. Then install a right-bend pipe (Trinity or Dynoport to name a couple) and a bigger carburetor (35mm Keihin or 34mm Mikuni). Those mods, combined with a free-flowing airbox like a CFM unit, will really wake that engine up. You'll be surprised just how much faster your Blaster will run.
