have they been in there a while? i got one of mine out but had to melt the other with propane and oxygen to get it out as it was stuck even hitting it with a hammer wouldn't budge it.

Okay its physically impossible to get the bearings out. Im done with blasters good bye.

Put the carrier in a vice. find a piece of sturdy metal about 9-12 inches long (ie old tie rod) and put it through to opposite side bearing and start beatin the fire out of it with a 2+ lbs hammer. Might need to spary it all with PB Blaster or the like.

Trust me I almost gave up on mine but just keep beating it and working that metal piece around the edges with every hit and they will start to move.

What about front hubs ? You can't guy te bearing . It's pressed against the tube

Carrier bearings can be a real pita. There is many methods to try and all have had success. For the carrier I always like to use a drift punch and set the carrier on two pieces of wood, then you have to manuever the drift punch in there while pushing the spacer tube to the side.Work it 1/4 turns and use a good 5lb hammer atleast. You can only catch the inner race of the bearings but don't be afraid to hit it.lol For the fronts I would install the hubs on some front rims first so you don't scratch the pc'd parts. Then also use a drift punch and a 5lb hammer and go to town. Also as said soaking them in a little penetrating oil and sitting overnight will help out alot.Good luck with it.

^^Dualstroke's method works really well most of the time. I've had good luck doing what he just described. Use the biggest hammer you can hold steadily in one hand, and be careful not to drive the drift punch in between the inner and outer races of the bearing, or you may get it stuck.

As a last resort, if you cannot get the whole bearing to budge, no matter how much of a beating it takes, break it (knock out the inner race and balls), and do this:

Works every time! I:I

I powdercoated my hubs with the bearings in, and had no issue replacing them. I used a long, small piece of copper pipe to slowly work each bearing out. Same thing with the carrier, except I heated the carrier itself up and then I punched the bearings out, using a thicker, steel pipe

In Oz we use some stuff called elbow grease in conjunction with a big waddy.

In other words we weild the biggest hammer we can hold.

I know this is old but im having same problems with my bearing carrier. There is not a spacer inbetween the two bearings correct, it is just part of the carrier?

I dont have much of a lip to pound with a punch and hammer through the other side... How do u guys get them out!?

There is a spacer between the bearings, #4 which will move aside to give more lip to punch on.

Ok i was wondering!
Was also pondering on buying a bearing puller:/

So i probably dont want to scuff up the inside of that spacer either.. Ugh.

I seen a video where someone pulled the seal off of the new bearings he bought and packed them with more grease and kept the seal off, do i need to do that? I bought the allballs set and they are in the freezee now

I cannot see why one should pack grease in to a new bearing they come with adequate grease.

Extra grease makes heat and the excess grease will be expelled into the environment, it will then pick up dirt and then on cooling the contaminated grease will return to the bearing and promote wear.
