Your best bet is a new case half. You could weld it up but it will have to be ground carfuly to match the rest of the seal seat.

get a welder in then drill it out and ur good to go

Wish it was that easy.lol To properly weld it the cases should be split and empty. They will need to be cleaned of all grease, oil before any welding takes place. Then the seal surface needs to be spot on for the shift shaft seal to seal.As blasterdemon said after all that work it is easier and more cost effective to just get a new case have.It can be fixed by the right shop / welder.Guess you got to decide which route to go.:D

I would suggest quick steel if you dont want to buy new or weld. Its cheap and stronger than jb weld

With that size hole idk if it would work though... Get a new one bud

By the scoring on the changer shaft, it looks like the chain grabbed it and pulled it rearward causing the case to chip out.

How exactly did you fix it? I am eager to know so that I can add the repair to my data bank.

I just ended up buying a new crankcase, I was going to do quick steel or job weld but its right by the shifter, so it needed movement, but it couldn't leak so it would have had to been perfect.

Smart move.

Time now to investigate why the chain broke, methinks it is time for a new chain and sprocket set.
